Three years ago a group of wineries in the Yarra Valley gathered together and saw the need for a winter wine event. This would create an opportunity for the wineries and their cellar doors to come together under the one roof and promote the quality and diversity in the wines they produce in the valley. Invitations were distributed to customers and clients to come together, warm themselves by the wood fire in a rustic farm shed, share their wine knowledge and taste a varied and impressive wine selection from boutique and larger wineries not to mention the food accompaniments by local restaurants.

This first event was a resounding success and On The Palate was born. Three years later the Winter On The Palate has grown and is now an eagerly awaited local event and the foundations have been laid for a similar regional showcase during Summer on a bigger scale within the Yarra Valley.

The Summer On The Palate will regionally showcase the wineries, restaurants and food producers of the Yarra Valley in the Valley at the picturesque Healesville Racecourse on Sunday 10th February 2008 and will be one of the first events starting the Grape Grazing 2008 Festival.
